Kauai Dive Co has 2 crew members, the owners! So we care about you and your family/friends having a great experience. Nick and Jessie are the only two people doing the scuba instruction. That means we truly care about the quality of your experience. We will not rush our customers and we will take our time with the scuba instruction. You can ask as many questions as you like and take as long as you need in the water practicing skills! We only run one tour a day so we do not have a certain time to be done! We are truly on island time. We prioritize your safety and comfort while ensuring that your dive adventure is unforgettable.
Our Expert Team
Nick and Jessie both grew up on the mainland but were drawn out to Kaua’i because of their love for the ocean. They met on Kaua’i working in the scuba diving industry and eventually wanted their own company! We’ve been in business since 2015.
Kauai Scuba Diving Tours Overview
Non-Certified or Beginner Divers (2 tank shore ) Koloa Landing Dive Site
If you want to try scuba diving, but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is for you. You can try scuba diving off our Koloa Landing shore dive with an instructor. An instructor will do a 30 minute verbal briefing with you and then we will gear up and get into the ocean. An instructor will practice skills with you on the surface. Our instructors will not rush you while you learn and keep you safe! The first dive will be any where from 30-60 minutes depending on an individuals air consumption. We will take a short break to get some water and snacks then head back in for a second tank! Usually people can do 40-60 minutes on the 2nd dive! To sign up for a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old and be an adequate swimmer.
Certification Courses
Ready to join the club?!? There’s no better time than now. Take this course and return home a certified open water scuba diver! If you are traveling to Kauai for vacation we highly recommend doing your e learner work before you come here. That way you have more time to enjoy your vacation and not worry about passing exams! Once you book we will email you a link to your e-learner course.
Once you pass your course all you have to do is a confined water session and 4 open water dives.
The confined session is where you learn the skills needed to scuba dive. We take you in to shallow water and practice skills until you have completed them all and we feel that you are ready for the open water.
Once you have completed your confined session we need to do 4 dives in the ocean. While we dive, we will have you complete skills you learned in confined in deeper water. This whole process takes two days. Usually we do confined and 2 open water dives one day and 2 open water dives another day. We recommend doing this at the beginning of your vacation just in case we need more time to certify you.
On the first day of the course we meet at Koloa Landing at 7:30. It usually takes 45 minutes to 2 hours to finished the confined session. After that we do 2 open water dives. The day is usually done by 2 o’clock. The second day is just 2 open water dives. We meet at 7:30 and are normally done by noon.
ADVANCED OPEN WATER –

You don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed to advance your diving, so you can start right after earning your PADI Open Water Diver certification. The course helps build confidence and expand your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives. You try out different specialties while gaining experience under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. You log dives and develop capabilities as you find new ways to have fun scuba diving. Are you ready to sharpen your skills and take diving to the next level? This course will help define you as a diver and make you more comfortable in the water. There are 2 required dives; Underwater Navigation and Deep Dive. The other 3 dives you get to choose your specialty! This tour is only call to book! 808-977-8643
Shore Dive at Koloa Landing
Koloa Landing is nutrient rich and hosts a wide variety of marine life! Oh, and did I mention turtles!? Another highlight of this site is the huge variety of moray eels! Don’t be surprised if we point out 5 or 6 different species on any give dive. The snowflake and dragon moray are rarely seen on our boat dive sites but can be found here on a daily basis! Octopus, blue spotted cornet fish, frog fish, orange mouth lizard fish, and endemic tropical reef fish are also fun to point out to our customers! This dive site also has a rich history as it used to be the 3rd largest whaling port in the Hawaiian islands!

What should I bring for the Shore Dive at Koloa Landing?
For the Shore Dive, please bring a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and a jacket for after the dive. We provide all the necessary scuba diving equipment.

How long is the Shore Dive tour?
